Maria Emilia Sanin

Counseling Student
Maria is a graduate student at Vanderbilt University seeking her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She plans on pursuing licensure (LPC-MHSP) following graduation. Prior to Vanderbilt, Maria received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Neuroscience from the University of Pittsburgh. Since then, she has held several research positions looking at both anxiety-related disorders and the interaction between anxiety and physical health. Her experience includes working with individuals who have anxiety, OCD, and eating disorders. Outside of work, Maria enjoys cooking and trying recipes from around the world, as well as exploring Nashville with her husband and playing with her Yorkshire Terrier, Gigi.

Maria is supervised by Courtney Bottoms Gustafson, LPC-MHSP, and will be available starting January 2021.
